Vision: The vision of the R.I. Director's Ethics Task Force is to establish and implement an Ethics resource initiative initially for the benefit of Rotary districts within Zones 25 and 26 during 2007-2009. In addition, it is envisioned that the Ethics Task Force will provide methods for use by districts to encourage ethics-emphasis particularly within their Interact and RYLA programs. A longer term vision is to develop and successfully implement a model which might be adaptable for use by Rotary clubs everywhere.
NEW: 2008 Survey of The Ethics of American Youth
Take a few minutes to read The Josephson Institute's 'The Ethics of American Youth-2008 Summary.' It is based on a survey of nearly 30,000 students in high schools across the United States. NOTE: This 'Report Card' is NOT associated with the Ethics Initiative of our Zones. However, past surveys of JI stimulated the idea to make Youth Ethics a major initiative in our Zones during 2007-2009. 12 of our districts are serving as Pilot Districts, working in collaboration with a team from JI, to develop Ethics Training Modules for RYLA & Interact programs. The draft modules will be field-tested in RYLA programs during January-April 2009.
